Electoral Commission denies AD allegations
The Electoral Commission has denied any involvement in the process of Air Malta employees being nominated by political parties to oversee flight applications of voters wishing to fly to Malta for the elections.
The accusation was made on January 30 by AD spokesman Arnold Cassola. The Commission stated that it is aware that Air Malta may have adopted such a practice and argued that it is only interested in learning whether people have been definitively denied the possibility of booking a flight.
The Electoral Commission announced that it is interested in seeing that all eligible voters are given the same opportunity to exercise their vote. The Commission urged anyone who feels that such a right has been denied to immediately file a report.
