Conditions for Farsons' workers improve - GWU
Employees of the Farsons Beverage Imports Company Limited (FBIC) have acquired a raise in wages thanks to a Collective Agreement between the General Workers Union (GWU) and the company’s management, the GWU said in a statement today.
FBIC is one of Farsons’ subsidiary companies.
The Collective Agreement, which was signed after it was approved by the workers themselves, covers a three-year period and expires in 2014.
Other than getting a raise in wages, workers will also receive a statuory salary increase to compensate for the cost of living, the GWU said.
Secretary of Hospitality and Foods Kevin Camilleri and Show Steward Emanuel Azzopardi signed the agreement on behalf of the GWU. General Manager Pierre Stafrace and Human Resources Manager Antoinette Caruana signed the agreement on behalf of the Farsons Group.
