Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said that Joseph Muscat’s decision to resign if his energy plan did not succeed meant that he was taking the easy way out.

Gonzi, who was speaking at a PM activity in Dingli this evening, stated that "By then the damage to the country would have been done."

Gonzi added that the right choices need to be made in the first place and the skill lies in these decisions.

“Labour’s plans would ruin Malta’s finances” Muscat said, where he explained that problems in the government finances would result in the collapse of everything else.

The Prime Minister also condemned the delay in which the Labour Party came up with its energy proposals in which he said that “Not even a dinosaur takes five years to be born.”

Gonzi reiterated that these proposals were put down by experts.
