Altaro Software, a local software development company providing backup solutions for Microsoft Hyper-V and file servers, welcomed their 15,000th international customer after 5 years in operation, as their revenue continues to double every year.
Following an investment of 1 million Euro in 2013 and 2014, Altaro’s customers now include the likes of Peugeot, Xerox, Thomson Reuters, Harvard University and many others.
Altaro’s major success can be attributed to the performance of its flagship product Altaro Hyper-V Backup, targeted towards small- to medium-sized businesses. The company resell their products through a growing, global network of over 1,600 IT distributors and resellers with 50% of revenue being earned in Europe and 35% from the US and Canada.
“Thanks to the successful new version release of Altaro Hyper-V Backup last year, backed by added investment and expanding the team, we’ve exceeded expectations in terms of growth” commented David Vella, CEO of Altaro Software. “The team delivered solid results throughout the year and hitting the 15,000 customer mark is a fitting testament to their hard work.”
As a result of its recent success, Altaro are expanding their local offices and investing in their workforce to build on its team of experienced IT professionals. They are currently hiring more engineering staff and online marketing professionals.
“Altaro Software became a Microsoft BizSpark partner in 2009 and through this partnership we have passed on ample support at an engineering level. Altaro in fact, develops software solutions for companies that make use of Microsoft Hyper-V server in their environments. As such, seeing one of our partners experience such growth and success is of immense satisfaction for us and proves our ongoing efforts to play a major role in the development of the IT sector in Malta,” said Microsoft Malta.
“We are very proud with this milestone and moving forward, we are eager to continue working closer with Microsoft Malta as our most important partner,” added David Vella.
